Developer SiamFlight has shared a new development update for its upcoming rendition of Incheon International Airport (RKSI) for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.

According to the developer, work on the project began around eight months ago after members of the South Korean flight simulation community requested a more up-to-date version of the airport. The initial plan was to enhance an existing scenery already available on the market, but this approach ultimately proved unsuccessful. As a result, the developer made the decision to restart the project entirely and rebuild Incheon International Airport from the ground up.

Due to the enormous scale and complexity of the airport, development has taken significantly longer than expected. SiamFlight, which operates as a single developer studio, noted that the size and level of detail required for Incheon were initially underestimated, even after previous work on large airports such as Suvarnabhumi Airport.

The upcoming scenery will release as an Early Access product, with the developer targeting a release window around mid-March. At launch, the airport is expected to be approximately 95% complete, with additional details and improvements planned following release. SiamFlight has confirmed that updates will continue to be made based on user feedback and community requests.

Incheon International Airport serves as South Koreas largest airport and one of the busiest aviation hubs in Asia, making it a highly anticipated addition for virtual pilots looking to explore the region.
