PMDG 737-700 Launches April 9 with High Detail Update for MSFS 2024
PMDG confirms April 9 release for the 737-700 with a complete visual rebuild featuring thousands of rivets, enhanced textures, and new cabin. Other variants to follow.
PMDG has shared a new trailer and confirmed the release date for the 737-700 in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, complete with what they are calling the High Detail Update — a comprehensive visual overhaul that touches nearly every part of the aircraft.
April 9 Release Confirmed
The PMDG 737-700 will release on April 9th, 2026 for MSFS 2024. This version includes the full High Detail Update from day one.
The High Detail Update
When PMDG brought the 737 to MSFS 2024 late last year, they deliberately shipped without visual updates to avoid delays. Now, they are delivering on the promise of a comprehensive refresh.
Taking full advantage of MSFS 2024 rendering capabilities, the update adds:
- Tens of thousands of rivets, screws, and fasteners placed throughout the aircraft
- Improved skin mapping with enhanced textures across the entire exterior
- Enhanced modelling of equipment hatches, external controls, and access panels
- Refined ground equipment with improved animations
- Updated doorways, cargo holds, and cabin interiors
- Reworked cockpit, landing gear, and gear bays
- Improved engine detailing and lighting
Every element of the 737 modelling and texturing has been touched. The difference compared to the current version is significant.
Remaining Variants Timeline
After the 737-700 launch, the other variants will receive their updates in sequence:
- 737-600 — Already in testing
- 737-900 — Expected to enter testing Monday
- 737-800 — Last in the queue
Each variant needs a testing period before release, but PMDG is moving through them systematically.
