MSFS Developer Q&A Returns in April with Full 2026 Roadmap Reveal

After months of silence and community concern, Jörg Neumann confirms the live Q&A sessions are back — with a promise to unveil what's planned for the rest of the year.

The MSFS community has been asking the same question for months: where did the developer communication go? The weekly briefings grew quiet, the bug trackers went dark, and the familiar faces of the development team seemed to disappear. Now we finally have context — and a path forward.

A Personal Situation

Speaking via video during the FSWeekend 2026 keynote in Lelystad, Jörg Neumann explained that he has been in Germany caring for his mother, who is going through what he described as a severe health emergency. "Family is critically important and comes first," he said, asking the community to understand.

It's a reminder that behind every product update is a real person. The live Q&A originally planned for FSWeekend had to be rescheduled because of this.

The Q&A Returns

On the community concern specifically, Jörg was direct: "I got quite a few pings over the last few weeks, even months, asking me, when is the next Dev Q&A going to be? Is everything okay?"

The answer: early April. And this won't be a typical progress update. Jörg indicated the session will provide proper visibility into the full 2026 roadmap. "We'll look at the roadmap, all the cool things we're doing for the rest of the year," he said — exactly what the community has been requesting.

Development Progress

Despite the communication gap, the team has been productive:

  • Sim Update 4 received a strong community response over the Christmas holidays
  • Sim Update 5 is currently in beta with positive early feedback
  • SU5 is expected to ship "in the next few weeks"

"The team is doing great. Everybody's super hard at work," Jörg confirmed.

Submit Your Questions

The community can pre-submit questions for the April Q&A via an official Microsoft form. If there's something you've been wanting to ask the panel — whether about specific bugs, feature requests, or the simulator's direction — now is the time to get it in.

No exact date has been announced yet. We'll update as soon as that's confirmed.
