Microsoft Unveils City Update 14, AAU4, and Fokker F27 at FSWeekend
Microsoft delivers a packed FSWeekend update: City Update 14 covers Netherlands and Belgium, AAU4 brings the Avidyne IFD 540/550, and iniBuilds develops the Fokker F27 Friendship as Local Legend 23.
Microsoft came to FSWeekend 2026 with a substantial development update for Microsoft Flight Simulator, announcing free content drops, avionics upgrades, and a new Local Legend aircraft.
City Update 14: Netherlands and Belgium
Available now as a free download, City Update 14 enhances multiple cities across the host country and neighbouring Belgium:

Attendees at FSWeekend could experience the update on the show floor immediately.
Aircraft and Avionics Update 4 (AAU4)
Launching alongside Sim Update 5 in April 2026, AAU4 introduces the Avidyne IFD 540 and IFD 550 avionics units — drop-in replacements for the GNS 500 series developed in partnership with FlightFX.
IFD Features:
- Full procedure support including SIDs, STARs, and approaches
- Complete TAWS simulation with visual and aural alerts
- Charts integration with FAA and LIDO procedures
- Fuel management pages with consumption, range, and endurance
- The IFD 550 adds synthetic vision
- Available to developers as Sim Attachments
AAU4 also delivers substantial updates to existing aircraft:
ATR 42/72: Career, passenger, VIP, and cargo modes; new CFB model; Air Tahiti HighLine variant; Logan Air and Indigo liveries; LIDO charts; navigation and autopilot improvements.
Antonov AN-2: Career modes including crop dusting, firefighting, and skydiving; fuel and electrical systems overhaul; new liveries and lighting; windshield wipers; EFB upgrades.
Fokker F7: Significantly upgraded by iniBuilds with career modes, refined flight model, and improved visual fidelity.
Latécoère 631: New fuselage, water effects, propeller animations, and visible passengers.
Savoia-Marchetti S.55: Updated to MSFS 2024 standards.
Local Legend 23: Fokker F27 Friendship
Developed by iniBuilds, the Fokker F27 Friendship is now available via the in-sim Marketplace. One of the most successful turboprop airliners ever built, the F27 was developed in the 1950s as a modern DC-3 replacement.
The release includes liveries representing historic operators such as KLM, balancing accessibility with authenticity for both casual and experienced sim pilots.
