Laminar Research has released X-Plane 12.4.1 as a public beta, continuing the steady stream of updates that have refined the simulator since its initial release.

What is in 12.4.1

The update touches multiple areas of the sim:

  • Aircraft systems improvements across default and third-party planes
  • Scenery refinements with better autogen placement and terrain handling
  • Performance optimizations for smoother frame rates
  • SDK enhancements giving developers more tools to work with

As with all X-Plane beta releases, this is intended for testing and feedback. Pilots who prefer stability should wait for the official release.

How to Access

To opt into the beta open the X-Plane installer, select the beta branch, then download and install the update.

Bug reports can be submitted through the official X-Plane bug reporter. Laminar encourages beta testers to provide detailed feedback to help identify issues before the stable release.
