iniBuilds A300 Gets Major Performance Overhaul in v1.0.7

The iniBuilds A300-600R has received a substantial update focused on addressing one of its most persistent criticisms: performance. Version 1.0.7, now available for Premium Edition owners, delivers meaningful frame rate improvements across the board.

The Numbers

For pilots who have struggled to fly the A300 into dense airports, this update should be a relief:

• High-end systems (Ryzen 9800X3D / RTX 4090): Passenger variant jumped from 64.7 to 80.8 FPS
• Mid-range systems: Freighter variant improved from 30 FPS to over 43 FPS

The freighter variant — which had previously suffered from noticeably lower performance than its passenger sibling — received particular attention. This makes the A300 significantly more accessible for pilots not running top-tier hardware.

Systems and Quality of Life

Beyond performance, v1.0.7 addresses a range of systems issues:

• Fixed autopilot behaviour — HDG/S can now be armed prior to takeoff
• Fixed vertical mode transitions — no more errant PROFILE mode engagement
• Added CPDLC compatibility with BATC/SI integration
• Added Pause at TOD and time compression support
• Numerous fixes for the GO AROUND page, fire handle illumination, and standby attitude display

The EFB also gains new options for startup state configuration, including auto-removal of covers.

The Missing EPIC Mod

However, there is an elephant in the room. The EPIC mod — a planned expansion replacing the traditional CRT screens with modern Honeywell LCD displays — was originally slated for late 2024. With the transition to MSFS 2024 and work on other projects like the A350, it appears the A300 has taken a back seat.

For now, pilots who wanted the modern glass cockpit variant will need to wait. The classic A300 experience, at least, is now smoother than ever.
