iniBuilds Confirms A220 and A380 in Active Development for MSFS 2024

Alongside the imminent TriStar release, iniBuilds reveals the Synaptic Simulations A220 is nearing completion and the A380 has entered active development with extensive real-world data gathering.

In a comprehensive development update ahead of FSWeekend 2026, iniBuilds has outlined progress across its aircraft lineup — and the news extends well beyond the TriStar that headlines the announcement.

Synaptic Simulations A220: Release Candidate Status

The Airbus A220 project with Synaptic Simulations has reached release-candidate status. Since its debut at FSExpo 2025, the team has implemented substantial systems work:

  • Fully reworked fly-by-wire system with custom flight law implementation
  • Custom engine model built from scratch
  • Complete autopilot and autoland systems
  • Full hydraulics, electrics, and radios simulation
  • Rebuilt flight management system with accurate navigation transitions and autoland logic

iniBuilds describes the crew alerting system as driven by "thousands of inputs," suggesting a depth that goes beyond typical mid-tier releases. With development entering its final stretch, testing and refinement are now the focus.

A380: Data Collection Underway

Perhaps more surprising is the confirmation that the Airbus A380 has entered active development. iniBuilds states that work has been "quietly progressing in the background," building on lessons from the A340, A350, and upcoming TriStar.

The developer emphasizes their approach to reference gathering:

  • Thousands of high-resolution photographs of the real aircraft
  • Real-world data collection trips to full-motion simulators
  • Direct measurements and operational insights from the aircraft itself
  • Systems and sound teams now well into their work

This hands-on approach mirrors what iniBuilds has done successfully with previous complex aircraft. The cockpit comparison overlays shared in the update suggest the modelling is already at an advanced stage.

What This Means

iniBuilds is positioning itself to cover a significant portion of the Airbus widebody lineup in MSFS 2024 — from the A220 regional jet to the A340, A350, and eventually the A380 superjumbo. Combined with their Boeing TriStar and the existing A300, they are building one of the most comprehensive fleet portfolios in the add-on market.

No specific release windows were given for the A220 or A380. The TriStar, meanwhile, is confirmed for release later this month, with hands-on demos available at FSWeekend 2026.
