FlightFX has released its HJet HA-420 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and this isn't just a simple port — it's a substantial rebuild that touches virtually every aspect of the aircraft.

Under the Hood

The headline changes are all about how the aircraft flies and thinks. The flight model has been rebuilt from scratch, along with ground handling and suspension physics. On the avionics side, the backend has been migrated to the Working Title V2 framework, bringing improved autopilot logic, smoother mode transitions, and a rebuilt autothrottle focused on anticipation rather than just reaction.

A standout addition is the custom Vertical Situation Display (VSD) with terrain elevation display — a feature that adds genuine situational awareness during approach and departure phases.

Systems Depth

FlightFX has gone deep on systems modelling for this release:

  • Electrical system with dynamic load shedding and bus separation logic
  • Automatic fuel balancing with real-world tank switching sequences
  • Fully simulated hydraulic system
  • Custom environmental system using thermodynamic modelling for temperature regulation
  • Automatic anti-ice with visual icing feedback
  • Fire detection and suppression with functional fire panel
  • Deployable oxygen masks

The avionics also feature enforced G-limits across all pitch modes and enhanced FLC mode with coordinated autothrottle interaction.

Visuals and Immersion

The MSFS 2024 edition takes advantage of the new sim's native materials and shaders, with a remodelled cockpit and refreshed cabin featuring interactive elements, smart glass-style window shades, and the beloved cabin companion Rufus. Audio has been completely redone by Echo 19, covering engine sounds, ground roll, and cockpit ambience.

The package ships with the VAMS 2.0 EFB featuring Navigraph integration and SimBrief-supported weight and balance tools, plus native MSFS 2024 walk-around interactions and Career Mode compatibility.

If you've been looking for a light jet that punches well above its weight class in terms of simulation depth, the HJet for MSFS 2024 deserves serious consideration.
