CSS 737 Classic Gets Virtual Crew and SimBrief Import in Major v1.9.0 Update
Commercial Simulation Systems delivers a substantial update to their 737-500 with a Virtual Crew system, SimBrief flight plan import, and MSFS 2024 walkaround support.
Commercial Simulation Systems (CSS) has released version 1.9.0 of their Boeing 737-500 Classic for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, bringing a substantial feature update that addresses some of the most requested enhancements.
Virtual Crew System
The headline feature is a new Virtual Crew system complete with customisable, airline-specific sound packs. Boarding music has also been added to elevate the pre-flight atmosphere — small touches that significantly enhance immersion for those who appreciate realistic airline operations.

SimBrief Integration
Flight planning gets a major boost with SimBrief CO RTE import support. Combined with expanded ATC frequency change support for default ATC, BATC, SI, and vPilot, flying on VATSIM becomes considerably more seamless. The ACP volume is now linked to vPilot for unified audio control.
MSFS 2024 Enhancements
For pilots on the newer platform, CSS has added MSFS 2024 walkaround mode compatibility, allowing you to explore the aircraft using the simulators built-in inspection camera.
Cockpit Improvements
The cockpit has received noticeable visual upgrades with enhanced detailing, animated checklists, and custom sun visors. A new Takeoff Card and LOC/GS pointers on the standby attitude indicator round out the avionic additions.
Systems and Hardware
Behind the scenes, dozens of new simulator events have been added, opening the door for better hardware integration. Events now cover MCP functions, lighting, trim, COM operations, and gear horn cutout — good news for home cockpit builders.
Pricing
The CSS Boeing 737-500 is available via subscription at $5 USD/month, $50 USD/year, or as a one-time purchase at $120 USD.
