Black Square Caravan Professional Launches March 17 for MSFS 2024
The Cessna 208 gets a complete rebuild with a custom 3D model, NASA-backed failure logic, and Boris Audio Works soundscape.
Black Square is about to redefine what a study-level turboprop looks like in MSFS 2024. The Caravan Professional arrives March 17, and based on a detailed preview by TwoToneMurphy, this is far more than an update to their existing Analog Caravan.

Custom 3D Model
The most significant change is that Black Square has ditched the default Asobo 3D model entirely. The Caravan Professional features a completely new exterior and interior built from scratch, enabling systems simulation that simply was not possible before.
NASA-Backed Failure System
The failure logic draws from actual NASA data on component wear and failure rates. Mishandle the engine or ignore operational limits, and the aircraft tracks that abuse, making failures statistically more likely over time. This is not random failure for the sake of drama; it is consequence-based simulation.
Tactile Details
Murphy's preview highlighted several immersive touches:
- Tap the glass on analog gauges to check if they are stuck or failing
- Dynamic yoke movement responds to airflow over the elevator
- Window and vent sounds change based on whether they are open or closed
Boris Audio Works Partnership
Every sound in the Caravan Professional was recorded from a real aircraft. The audio changes dynamically, crack open a window or adjust an air vent and hear the difference immediately.
Editions and Pricing
Black Square is releasing the Caravan Professional in three configurations: Passenger Edition, Amphibian/Cargo Edition, and Complete Bundle.
Owners of the original Analog Caravan for MSFS 2020 should watch for a discount code at launch.
