BeyondATC Shows VFR Stage 1 in Action with Full Uncontrolled Flight Demo

The AI ATC addon demonstrates its upcoming VFR capabilities with a complete pattern flight at an uncontrolled field — no IFR flight plan required.

BeyondATC has released a video demonstration of its upcoming VFR Stage 1 functionality, showing a complete traffic pattern flight at an uncontrolled airfield. For pilots who have been waiting to use BeyondATC without filing IFR flight plans, this is the first substantial look at what is coming.

What VFR Stage 1 Includes

The demo shows several key VFR features working together:

  • Pattern work at uncontrolled fields — takeoff, traffic pattern, and landing without any ATC clearance required
  • CTAF communications — position reports and traffic advisories using correct phraseology
  • Traffic awareness — interaction with other aircraft in the pattern
  • Natural radio flow — the kind of casual but professional communication you would hear at a real untowered airport

This represents a significant expansion of BeyondATC scope. Until now, the addon has focused exclusively on IFR operations with controlled airports. VFR support opens up bush flying, sight-seeing, and casual GA flights that many MSFS pilots have been requesting.

Development Timeline

The experimental branch currently contains the arrival sequencing rewrite and voice system improvements from v1.8.0. Once those stabilize and move to the main Early Access branch, the team plans to begin pushing VFR features to experimental.

No specific release date has been announced, but the polished state of this demo suggests VFR Stage 1 is not far off.

Pricing

BeyondATC remains available as a one-time purchase at $29.99 for the Base Pack, which includes all future updates including VFR functionality when released.
