Over a year after its initial announcement, 29Palms has released Chania "Ioannis Daskalogiannis" Airport (LGSA) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The scenery is a complete ground-up build of one of Crete's busiest airports — not a port of older assets.

Gateway to Western Crete

Chania Airport serves as the main entry point for western Crete, handling tourist traffic to popular destinations like Chania and Rethymno. During summer months, the real-world facility handles over 100 flights per day from carriers including Ryanair, Aegean Airlines, easyJet, Jet2, TUI, and Wizz Air. The 3,348-meter main runway can accommodate heavy aircraft like the 747 and even the Antonov AN-124.

What's Included

29Palms has put serious effort into the ground detail work. The scenery features a highly detailed passenger terminal with an optimized walk-through interior, completely reworked custom ground polygons matching the latest apron layout under Fraport's operation since 2018, and refined surrounding vegetation.

The developer also collaborated with FlyTampa's team to include custom EKO fuel trucks, animated flags, and static people throughout the airport. Other highlights include custom dynamic night lighting, animated windsocks, an accurately sloped runway, and the southern taxiway that doubles as a secondary runway when needed.

Key features:

  • Ground-up build for MSFS 2024
  • Detailed terminal with walk-through interior
  • Custom ground polygons reflecting current real-world layout
  • Sloped runway and secondary taxiway
  • Custom animated objects (flags, windsocks, fuel trucks)
  • Refined vegetation density and placement
  • Custom dynamic night lighting

Chania Airport is available now from the Contrail store for €19.68.
